Where Cooperative Stories Get Made and Found
Skidboot is a platform where many creators come together to tell cooperative stories. Content Creators trained through our Educational Partnership Circles produce documentaries, case studies, and educational series on cooperative businesses, ecovillages, mutual aid, and shared finance. Skidboot is where these stories are created, shared, and found.

Most streaming platforms focus on entertainment, not cooperative education. Education platforms, on the other hand, often miss the storytelling part. Skidboot combines both, much like SkyDeck connects finance and community.
Production: Where Training Becomes a Story
Content Creators and Facilitators both come from Educational Partnership Circles, which are direct partnerships between TREC and colleges or universities using SkyDeck Education. The school runs the program, and TREC provides the software. Facilitators and Content Creators train together on the platform, each with coursework for their role. The same circle keeps training the next group of Facilitators. After training, Content Creators work on real projects, documenting Facilitation Circles as they help build cooperatives.
Distribution: Built on Open Video, Not a Walled Garden
Skidboot uses Stream.place, an open video platform that makes sure every creator's work is signed, owned, and stays theirs. Their work isn't trapped inside a platform that might change the rules later.
Discovery: Where People Find What's Already Working
Members, operators, and curious newcomers all want the same thing: real examples of successful cooperatives. Skidboot is where they find these stories, shared by the creators who experienced them directly.
Revenue: Funding the Next Project
Ad inventory and subscriptions do more than pay creators. They also support the cooperative projects, educational content, and infrastructure that made these stories possible from the start.

Flagship Story: Columbia Farms Ecovillage
Skidboot's first big project follows the Columbia Farms Ecovillage as it grows from the ground up in Sherwood, Oregon. This is a real permaculture community in progress. The story is captured as it unfolds, with trained Facilitators and Content Creators documenting the Facilitation Circle as it brings together architects, developers, and a community health center to build the project.
This is what Skidboot is made for. It's not just about making a film about a cooperative and then leaving. Skidboot stays involved with each project, documenting its growth and giving viewers a clear way to start their own. Network Built With a Production Partner, Not a Studio
We're building Skidboot's platform with a skilled documentary production partner. This brings real filmmaking experience together with a network made for cooperative storytellers from the start. The goal isn’t just one successful documentary. It's an ongoing network that keeps making new stories as more cooperatives form.
One Story, Three Audiences
The same content that teaches students also helps practitioners and introduces newcomers to new possibilities. Skidboot doesn’t create three versions of each story. Instead, it makes one strong story and lets each audience connect with it in their own way.
